FAQs

01

How is this different from a Carfax report?

Carfax tells you what happened to the specific car: accidents, title issues, ownership history. Squeezed tells you what is likely to happen next on that year/make/model: known failure patterns, repair cost ranges, and what to ask the seller. They're complementary. Use Carfax for the past, Squeezed for the future.

02

Can I decode a VIN for free?

Yes. Our free VIN Decoder turns any VIN into its full specs, open recalls, and known problem patterns, no account required. You can also paste a VIN straight into the guide flow to skip manual entry.

Try the free VIN Decoder
03

Used car vs certified pre-owned (CPO): which should I run a guide on?

Both. CPO warranties cover some failures, but not all, and they expire. A Squeezed guide tells you which model-specific issues are likely to appear after the CPO coverage runs out, so you can budget for them or negotiate on them.

04

Does this replace a mechanic's pre-purchase inspection?

No. Squeezed prepares you for that conversation. Use it to identify the specific risks worth verifying so the mechanic spends the inspection on the things that go wrong on that car.

05

What vehicles does it cover?

Most US makes and models from 1984 to present, plus popular classics back to 1965. More popular vehicles get deeper coverage.

06

How accurate is the data?

Each guide is built from NHTSA recalls, manufacturer service bulletins and owner reports for that exact engine and model year. Findings carry clear evidence labels (High confidence, Medium confidence, or Verify) and a source type (NHTSA recall, Service bulletin, Owner reports, or Documented pattern), so you know how much weight to give each one.

07

What info do I need to get started?

Year, Make, and Model. You can also paste a VIN and we'll auto-fill the year, make, model, trim, and engine. Adding mileage and asking price produces a noticeably better guide.

08

Do I need an account?

Yes, a free one, and no card. You pick the car first and only sign up right before the guide runs. The account is what saves your guide: you can reopen it later, share it with a mechanic, and work through the inspection checklist on your phone at the car. Every guide you run stays in your dashboard.

09

What does it cost after the free guide?

A single guide is $3.99. Packs bring the price down: 5 guides for $14.95 ($2.99 each), or 10 for $19.90, as low as $1.99 a guide. One-time payments, no subscription, and credits never expire.

See pricing
10

Can I share my guide with a mechanic or a friend?

Yes. Every guide has a shareable link.

11

Is my data private?

Yes. We don't sell or share your vehicle data. You control who sees your guides.
